Wall Wet Behind Bed

Wall Wet Behind Bed

by connie

Our bed is in the back of our RV under a window. I notice that the wall were our mattress is up to is wet. Why is it doing that? It's not leaking from the window.

I, too, had a leak which allowed rainwater into my brand new rig. Patched it and all's fine now.

I've learned that there are other ways moisture can get in. Just reaching here, but we noticed that the walls around the slide were moist. We were in Lake Charles, LA where the area can be very damp and humid. The night before had a dip in the temperature and with the heat running, it caused the moisture around the slide problem. It's only happened twice.

You didn't happen to mention whether your bed is against the wall near a slide. That would lead me to believe that your leak may be on the roof's edge.

Crazy thought, but I hope you figure it out soon.

I had a similar problem and it turned out the caulking on the side trim was not tight. Remove old caulking and reapplied new. Problem solved.

You'll have to go on top of your RV. A crack could be in your roof seam. Let us know.
