Technomadia and Their 1961 GM Bus

Greetings! We're Cherie & Chris, both in our late 30's, and we've been on the road full time since 2006. We both have high tech careers in software development and consulting, and we work mainly remotely from our little home office on wheels.

We started out in a tiny solar powered 16' T@b travel trailer for our first year on the road. And then we upgraded to a highly customized 17' Oliver Travel Trailer that we traveled in for 3 years.

Just this past summer of 2011, we decided to switch things up and create more mobile living space. So we found and purchased a 1961 vintage bus conversion (it's a GM 4106) that we're working on bringing up to date and geeking out. We are loving bus life!

So far we've remodeled with a computer office space for two, a large cutting edge Lithium Ion (LiFePO4) battery bank and done a lot of upgrades. We'll soon be adding on solar panels on the roof so that we can be more self contained and get back to boondocking more.

We love life on the road, and all of the quality time we get to spend with friends & family all over the place. And best of all, we get to make new friends all the time!

We keep a blog of our journey, mobile tech and share what we've learned about living & working on the road at:

Truly Awesome
by: Robert

I have to hand it to you two. Young and on the go while holding down jobs in the IT realm.

I've wanted to do that for some time but have not decided to really get serious till now. Am 62, soon to retire, and come from the IT and business side of the house. Looking to do some data, software, etc, work while on the road.

Any suggestions on companies out there I can get in touch with?

Thanks,

Robert
