Towing Fifth Wheel

I am in the process of purchasing a 30 foot fifth wheel RV. The pick up truck that I currently have is equipped with trailer ball in the box as it used to haul a goose neck trailer. The dealer has informed me that a goose neck adapter can be hooked to the king pin therefore eliminating the installation and cost of a fifth wheel for the pick up. Is this a wise way to go ???? or would this put excessive strain on the RV? Your quick reply would be greatly appreciated.

Safety Hitch

My husband and I pull a 5th Wheel RV and I pull a gooseneck horse trailer. We did not go with the 5th Wheel to horse trailer ball adapter for reason of safety, peace of mind and insurance. We can now pull either trailer with an Automated Safety Hitch System. The added braking and control you get from the Safety Hitch is a huge bonus! Friends that have short bed trucks really like it also for peace of mind when turning and backing. What a luxury it is to be able to jack-knife much more than 90 degrees and not brake out the rear window of the truck!

5th Wheel Towing

Yes this is possible. It's sometime call a Ranch Hitch Adapter. I can't say for sure whether it will cause a strain on the 5th Wheel. But I know they are used a lot. Check Trailer Life Magazine. They have info on them some times. Or may be you can ask one of their tech's.
