Full Time RV Loans (Dec 2011)

by Rob
(Ft Walton Beach, FL)

Am considering a new motorhome. We recently sold our stick built home and are looking at down-scaling to a small condo later. So, basically we are full time.

However, every financial institution I have contacted are telling me the same story "You need a permanent residence" RV campground/pad will not count, sorry you are disapproved!"

Are there any full time RV loans available today?

Loans and Addresses
by: Richard

First you need an address. Go to escapees.com and join up. The fee is very little. Once in, you can use escapees mail service and have a permanent, fully legal address all your own.

We were in almost the same exact situation you're in. We'd sold our home and began full-timing. However, we'd already had the address/mail thing set up prior to closing on our stick built home.

There are several states where you can obtain a permanent address. We use Texas ourselves, but there's also South Dakota, Nevada, Florida, and I think Washington state who allow this. One has to consider taxes paid, license, tags, inspections and such when choosing their state.

We ended up financing a small amount. The dealer's lender is US Bank out of Ohio. They vary accordingly depending upon the dealership.

You can do this, and it's amazingly simple and fast to set up.

Good luck!

RV Loan help

by Susan
(Montana)

We live in a small travel trailer at a local campground. Our Fridge went out and I am wondering if there are any groups that have help funds for people lie us? We do not qualify for most things as we do not live in a stick house. Sadly it cost us almost 100 dollars in lost food. Also our rig is a 1971.

We have tried to get something larger as my daughter is a teenager and wants more space of her own. We tried trading up but no go and few or any will take payments. And getting a loan is rarer then an honest politician.

Thank you for any guidance you can give us.

Full timing - address & loans

by Mary
(Ft Worth, Texas)

Hi - I need some info on having an address since we are full timing. We have been using our sons, but he is young & moves.

Mail is not the issue so much as we would like to trade up eventually. When we got our house we are in now the address thing became an issue since we sold our sticks & bricks.

Seems PO or PMB is not a physical address. Anyone who some knowledge we would love to hear from you?.
Thank you

Address
by: Kay

We have been rv'ing for 3 years and had the same issue, we decided to become members of ESCAPEES CLUB. You get a permanent address. all your mail is sent to that address and then if you are gonna be in a place for a more that week they will send it to the campground or PO box in the closest town.

It has worked out wonderfully for us. Just look up there website and see if this is a fit for you. There is a charge for this. But it is so convenient.

Address issues
by: Anonymous

I gave the address of the rv campground I stay at the most. But I also informed the loan company to only send my important personal mail to my PMB. They comply for the most part, only sending mostly ads to the rv campground address. Hope this helps you.
