RV Entry Door
RV Entrance Door
Another tip if you're shopping for a different RV is to pay attention to the RV entry door. That may not seem like any big deal, but in a lot of RV parks the placement of the door can be a real hassle.
You'll find that quite a few RV parks provide only a tiny concrete slab for your patio. The slab is generally centered in the parking spot.
It's also very common to have trees planted toward the front of the parking spot. Both of these scenarios can cause access difficulty.
If you have only one door very near the front you may have to step out onto dirt or gravel. We've had that scenario and it can drag a lot of dirt and gravel into your trailer making a real mess if it's been raining.
Any access problems may also pose a safety hazard for the occupants.
It's generally best to have two ways into your vehicle, but if there is only one it's best situated somewhere near the middle so you'll generally be able to step out onto the patio and your awning.
