Price is Right

About 5 months ago we saw our youngest graduate from High School and then a few months later our landlord sold our house. My husband and I instead of renting another house bought a 2000 Class A motorhome. All of our friends think we've lost it and will get over it. I love that we actually own something and no one can take it away. I love the fall mornings when it's raining and the leaves are blowing around our R.V. I sip my coffee, read my bible with our dogs curled up on the couch with me. I also enjoy watching our new neighbors walking their dogs and seeing R.V.'s coming and going. It is so relaxing to sit outside and doing nothing but enjoying the fresh air. We took our first road trip and it lasted about a week. Our R.V. ran well and I even enjoyed boon-docking at a truck stop. Everyday feels like an adventure. This will be our first winter in our R.V. and I find myself looking forward to it. We too sold most of our belongings and I love the freedom. Once in awhile one of our kids will spend the night on the sofa bed piled in with both the dogs. I just want to wish blessings on all others on this same journey.

 We Did It, Too!

We also left the big house with it's expensive utilities, taxes and payments and bought a 5th wheel trailer. WE loved it and decided to become full timers, so the trailer is up for sale and we have bought a used 40' motorhome. We love it.

My husband will retire (for the 3rd time) next April and we will begin our travels, so for now we are in a campground near his job. Like you, I enjoy our home and the carefree life here. No yard work and very affordable. A small easy to care for home. I wish we had done this 10 years ago!

 Best Thing

To me the best thing about "living" in our RV (we are not officially full timers but travel about 3 weeks out of every month!) is that we have a lake house....a mountain cabin....a beachfront place...a city loft...a country estate...as close to our friends and family as we want to be...and never have to unpack our motorhome!!!! We can go anywhere...stay as long as our finances allow...and then either go back home or go to a new location!!! What could possibly be better than that lifestyle!!!???

 Congrats on your decision!

Just 23 days ago, my husband and I began our full-time RV adventure. While he is still working the campground we are parked in is only 3.5 miles from his office.

We had been renting, but could not seem to ever get ahead... this past summer with electric bills hitting $367.00 for August and $442.00 for Sept. we had definitely had enough.

So Oct 1 we moved into a 26' TT in a local campground ... the TT is ours and we seriously doubt we will ever have another electric bill to exceed even $100.00 .... soon as he can retire, our plan is to have a motorhome/coach and begin our travel adventures.

In the meantime..I am with you, truly enjoying watching the Rv's come and go , meeting the other couples/families as well as occasionally introducing our Chihuahua's to their pets. I am truly loving the small space, fast clean up and just the much simplier life.

I walk around the campground with my dogs every day which I and they enjoy emencely.

 Welcome to the RV lifestyle!

Welcome to the RVers lifestyle!!! The sense of still owning the home (coach) that one lives in, yet without the roots and headaches associated with owning a landed home or renting. If you get a bad neighbor, just simply pull up stakes and move to another space or resort! No worrying about "will we be able to sell the house and get away from our nutcase neighbor(s).

RVing allows us the simpler more affordable lifestyle we once enjoyed in America. And potluck dinners at the resorts are awesome!!!

 FORMER FULL TIMER

It is great! My husband and I did it from 1999 to 2003 now we have a place in Florida but still travel the road across the country and love it. You meet a lot of very nice people traveling in a RV. Best thing is if you don't like it, you can leave.
