Our debate: Buy a motor home or a 5th wheel with a toybox?

My wife and I are looking strongly at the fulltime RV lifestyle. She's getting tired of her job in an office. I semi retired from the trucking industry. I'm 63 and the wife is 60. We're thinking strongly of selling our 3BR home and rental unit, and buying a good used RV. We looked at new ones in Madison just to get some ideas, and the sales person was pushing a 5th wheel over a motor home. I like the idea of the toybox on the 5th wheel, then I could take my motorcycle along as a second vehicle. I like the Monaco motorhomes the best. Found one online, it's a 2000 model 40 footer in good condition fully equipped with a 350 Cummins engine. Not interested in a gas powered vehicle at all. We can get a dolly for one of our vehicles, but then I wouldn't be able to take the motorcycle along.
We're thinking of spending winters in southern Alabama, Mississippi, Lousiana, areas. And coming back to Wisconsin/Minnesota/Michigan for summers. Thought about taking a job as a paid campground host for the federal campground system. That would work out for us, making something as a host, getting my social security of $1700/mo. If we get our home sold, we could pay cash for either a used motorhome, or possibly a new or late model 5th wheel. I'd have to get a better pickup than what I have to pull it. Guess we'll have to see what happens on the home sale, and what we can find for an RV.
