My Little Cottage on Wheels

(Arizona)

Hi everyone. This is my very first new Travel Trailer and Truck. I'm really enjoying this little 19 footer. It's just perfect for me. I've met more people in the last two weeks than I have in the past several years. All very nice people, more than willing to answer questions and just shoot the breeze! I never found this kind of comradery in a suburban neighborhood...ever!

So encouraging ---
by: Meanie Nene

Thank you for your attitude. I am ready to retire and am dreaming of this life-- a little scary being alone but I have always handled whatever I needed to for the last several years with owning my home, so surly I could handle this.
Your words make me realize I can do it.

your courage has given me some
by: carol d

My retirement plan was to do just what you're doing but it's happening a year and a half sooner then expected. Planned on selling my home next year 2014 but lost everything to "Sandy" here on the east coast of Jersy.

Having owned my home for 27 yrs, it's extremely difficult to live in my sister's basement with my 4 dogs and losing control over my life.

Financially, i am not as prepared as i would like to be to start my new life but your story expressed to me that you were scared too but you did it!

You have given me such encouragement and have taken away some of my fears. Thank you so-o-o much for taking the time to write this story. and oh yes, i also love what you did with the dinette area. ingenious. good luck.

Just Divorced
by: Fiver FullTimer

Scary? I was retired until my divorces last month. I'm broke, scared, living with a friend from High School (not a good arrangement) and have to re-enter the job market at 52.

I bought an 2004 Alfa Gold as an investment to fix and flip. While I was fixing it, I flip! I moved in and started slowing populating it, at first with just tasteful trim and decor (a picture here, plants there, etc.) all the while justifying it will myself that it will show better.

...A few months later, I have registered it and started looking at trucks to pull it. I now live in my Fifth-wheel full time, my friends don't understand and I never felt more alive than I do today. Life is what you make of it. I'm 6'5" and am a full timer.

I love how you made your space your own. It looks for warm and comfy. I love reading all the comments made on your new found life style. Enjoy your life. We are RVers but only go out once a month. We always come back to our base home. We tried full time for 3 months, But with my "Home Business" it got a little tight, as I needed my scroll saw set up all the time and tables to assemble my craft. I loved living in the RV and when my "Home Business" slows down, we may try it again. Good luck and Good Living.

Corrine:

Well,my 7-acre farm has been on the market since mid-June last year, but the market was dead here and a farm is harder to sell than a single family home in a neighborhood. But there's another Open House scheduled for April 29 and again on May 8 so I'm hopeful. I've got a statue of St Joseph buried in the yard and a lot of folks praying for me, so we shall see. It only takes ONE PERSON and then I'm OUT OF HERE!

Do keep in touch and I'm glad your place sold quickly. And again, we can direct email if you like. kcbsmall@aol.com

Might be a little less "clunky" than going through here.

"Sold." :)
by: Corinne

Thanks for the kind words Kathi!

I sold my house too. It was only on the market for two days! I expected at least 3, 4, 5 months in this market. What a nice surprise that was. I said to myself "well, it looks like I'm really going to do this!" lol..

As I mentioned before, the hardest part, I found out, was doing all the research. The 'doing' part was much easier than I expected it to be. :)

I went to an affordable and nice RV Park, which is where I'm at now, until I get used to everything in the Trailer. I also have Solar Panels and a nice battery bank for when I head off boon docking.

Maybe your place will sell in two days too! :) Hey, it could happen!

I would love to hear and see more! Please feel free to email me at kcbsmall@aol.com

Back outside I go -- having some fence replaced today -- just one more thing toward getting this place sold so I can buy my OWN house on wheels!

Being True to Yourself :)
by: Corinne

Thanks Cowgirl and Gracie! I will keep everyone posted once I hit the boon docking trails! :) I also have a video camera in my holster and plan on drawing it! lol.. It's something I've wanted to do for years now and I finally said "I'm going for it."

Nothing like following your own heart and your own Truth. I saw a sign once that read "If you follow your own heart you'll never get lost." It's so true.

I look forward to hearing about how it's going for you guys too. We can all share our adventures as well as how much money we're saving along the way while enjoying this great big beautiful world!

For me, THIS is Living.

You both and have a great day. Thanks for sharing.

"Happy Trailers." :)

You go, Girl!
by: Gracie

I love how you converted your dinette into a couch/day bed/lounging area! Both clever and stylish and a much better use for that space than a cramped seating area. Very personal and practical as well! I hope to join you soon on the road. Keep enjoying your adventure.
