Live Work Dream: We Didn't Want to Wait Till We Got Old

Have you ever considered taking a long sabbatical to really explore what you want to be when you grow up?

In May of 2007, we did just that. After years of growing a small, web-based graphic design and large format printing business from our home in rural California, we were yearning for a change in scenery. For almost two years, we planned and budgeted to take some time off, see the country, and figure out: what’s next?

After taking critical steps necessary to successfully sell our business, we marketed and sold our little enterprise in just six months. And we didn’t just sell our business – we sold everything else too; our home and most of our possessions also went. Then, after more research, we purchased a top-of-the-line, four-season 24′ Arctic Fox fifth wheel trailer and a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 pickup.

In June, 2007, we packed up and began traveling around North America with our three-legged dog Jerry in search of the next big thing, in the new mobile headquarters of our online business, Agreda Communications.

What started out as a one-year road trip has turned into an RV lifestyle we fell in love with. Over two years later, we are still criss-crossing across the country, living on the cheap, running our websites like Tripawds.com and sharing our RV road trip experiences with others who dream of embarking upon a similar adventure someday.
