Lasagna in a Dutch Oven
Dutch Oven Lasagna
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
9-10 no boil lasagna noodles
12 oz carton of ricotta cheese
28 oz jar of pasta sauce
8 oz package of shredded mozzarella cheese
In your dutch over boil water and dip each noodle briefly into the. I know they are no boil noodles, but this step will make the lasagna come out perfect.
When noodles have all been dipped discard the water and fry your sausage in your dutch oven. Remove your sausage when cooked and set aside with the noodles. Discard the grease from the pan.
Now cut and arrange a layer of noodles, then ricotta, and mozzarella cheese and pasta sauce. Repeat until layering until noodles, cheese and sauce are all used. Top with mozzarella to finish.
Tightly cover your oven, and set in down into the coals. Add 6 to 8 coals on top of the oven. Cook for about 40 minutes or until ricotta is firm. Remove from the coals and let stand 10 minutes while covered to set.
Cut into wedges to serve.
