Gonna hit the road....

Gonna hit the road....

(South Dakota)

To make a long story short, my husband and I (both in our late 40's) are simply tired of this hectic stressful life we've been living. In four years our house will be paid off and we plan to sell (and frankly don't really care what we get out of it as long as it will buy us a fifth wheel and truck).

My husband is on disability (he gets around $700 a month) I work a seasonal job as Master Gardener for the cities parks and in the winter as a CNA in a long term care facility. I love my job in the parks but my job in the nursing home is becoming extremely stressful and I don't enjoy it anymore. Because I live in South Dakota I cannot find outdoor work in the winter. Our plan is to stay up here in the summer and be close to our children and grandchildren and travel to warmer climates in the winter and put to use my degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design.

Been doing a lot of research online and am finding lots of interesting and useful information. One thing I am struggling with is what kind of RV to purchase. We keep going back to the fifth wheel but pulling such a large vehicle is somewhat scary to me. However if we get a Class C (which to me seems a bit to small for me) and we break down we will be "homeless". Also we have not been camping in years (our camping used to consist of a van and a tent). Also a little unsure of how to handle our finances and if we can really afford to do this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you thought of 'gate guarding'?
by: Happy Gate Guard

Just do a search for the topic and research it.
Has been the best God-send for my husband and I and we LOVE doing it. It pays good and you can work winters in nice warm Texas and easily go back home to family in the summer. Just do the research first as we did, and I wish you well.

May God Bless you, let Him lead your way.
