Freedom to Travel with Our "Home"

by Robert ("Jess") Jessup
(Harlingen, TX)

We started living full-time in a fifth-wheel RV two years before I retired from my second career to be sure that was going to work as our lifestyle.

My first career was as an USAF pilot and I think going all over the world put the travel bug in both my wife and me. Once I was fully retired (Dec 08), we hit the road and didn't look back.

We absolutely love the lifestyle! I've always loved Texas and we found a nice seniors-only park in the Rio Grande Valley where we winter. We also found a RV park/horse ranch in Colorado where we plan to spend at least part of each summer. In between--as our budget and family issues permit--we have traveled throughout the western US.

We plan to continue this lifestyle as long as our health allows. Then we'll buy a park model home in a seniors-only park, probably in our favorite one in Harlingen, Texas.

RV Park in Harlingen, TX
by: Robert ("Jess") Jessup

I was asked what was the RV park's name we stay at when in Harlingen, TX.

It is the oldest RV park in the Rio Grand Valley, but very well kept and small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed when you stay there. It is very convenient to Harlingen and the entire valley.

Love the RV Lifestyle
by: Sharon

Thank you for sharing your wonderful story. Everyone loves reading about happy full-timers.

Will you share the name of the seniors RV park you love in Texas?

We have owned a park model RV in the Paradise RV park in Sun City AZ. The place is properly named, because it was paradise when we lived there! We also plan to retire back to that lifestyle when we stop traveling.

Thanks again for your wonderful story!
