My husband and I have been planning to Full Time for the past 17 years, give or take. The kids were young when we began camping in a pop-up camper because with home schooling and 5 kids still living at home, we couldn't afford to take vacations. We said we'd give it a whirl, if we didn't like it we could sell the pop-up and figure out another plan. Needless to say we loved every minute of it and soon stepped up to a bunk house travel trailer. For the next several years we traveled about the country learning the ropes, picking the brains of seasoned full timers, all the while schooling our kids on the road, enjoying the view from a mountaintop, a waterfall or a battlefield. When the time was right we sold our house, bought a motor home and we began our Full Time adventure of living our life on wheels. It has indeed been an adventure. This coming May, 2011 will mark two years that we will have been 'homeless' by choice, experiencing the mountaintop from sea to shining sea where our home is literally where we park it. We love our lifestyle. The kids are grown and this past summer we took our first ever cross country trip from North Carolina to California and back to Pennsylvania visiting The Grand Canyon, Red Rocks and Yellowstone as well as Lake Tahoe, The Sierra Nevada's and Mount Rushmore. From the top of the world on the highest mountain peak to the lowest point in Death Valley God continues to bless us with the beauty of His creation. We wouldn't do anything different, nor would we ask for a do-over. This is the life we've dreamed of and we're living our dream.
