Electrical Problems

Hi, I have a 27 foot 2008 Springdale camper with one slideout.

Both batteries are new and fully charged. When I push the slideout button to open it nothing happens. I checked the 30amp fuse and it is okay, I also checked the breaker box and it was okay. Also there is no interior lights working. When I hook the truck up to the camper and start the truck the slider works -- Whats wrong??

Check the Ground Connections

1: Check the battery ground to frame connections. Good contact, tight and clean.

2: Check the ground wire connection on the slide motor. Good contact, tight and clean.

3: Clean your battery connections. I always clean the terminals on new batteries. There is always a dark oxidized coating on the terminals even when new. May not effect contact right away but will in the future. Why not clean when the new batteries when they are in the open and you don't have to maybe get into an awkward position to do so later.

Check Batter Connections...

Practically same thing happened on my truck just yesterday, thought battery was gone, checked connection on battery, put on new cable ends... walla...it worked for me... Hope this is just as simple for you... Good luck!
