Covering a Car

We were wondering if we should cover our car with a cover, if that would help. We where told rocks fly up and hit the car.

I'm assuming you mean should you cover your car while towing it behind your RV. If that's the case, I'm no expert (and while I don't even own a house on wheels YET) I did a lot of traveling this past winter and deliberately LOOKED at every RV, TT and towing vehicle imaginable on my way to Florida and again going from Phoenix, AZ up to Sedona.

While I saw a number of vehicles in tow wearing "car bras" I didn't see ANY that were completely covered and they ran the gamut from flat-towed, to all four wheels off the ground on a utility trailer.

Perhaps there is some law against towing a vehicle with a complete cover on it -- I don't know -- and as far as "rocks flying up" well typically the wheels of the RV would be WIDER than the vehicle being towed so the trajectory of the "rocks" would not be in a direct line with the towed vehicle.

This question might have a more definitive answer by looking at Department of Transportation laws for various states. Or you might luck out and get the answer you are looking for right here! Good luck!
