Correct Wattage

Correct Wattage

We just purchased a 2012 Destiny 5th wheel and it is going to be lived in full time. It's not going to be on a camp site, but on a piece of land. We are having an electrican come in to hook up power, but we don't want them to put the wrong wattage in. What is the recommened wattage for a 40 foot 5th wheel?

Correct wattage

2012 5th Wheel will be a 50 amp requirement if you decide to watch TV and use the microwave at the same time. Your base should not be wired for less than 100 amp service. You will want electrical outlets for extension cords, etc.

Better to have more than to have less and need
more.

Wattage for New 5th Wheel

Most likely a 50 amp.

But to be sure, look on the 5th wheel near where the electric cord is located. You can also tell by the prongs on the end of the electric cord, as they are in a slightly different configuration from a 50 amp to a 30 amp.
