Considering a New Life

Considering a New Life

Hi this Is my first post on here. I am almost 21 years old and I have been thinking about doing full timing for about 2 years now. I am getting rid of most of my stuff and I am saving money to purchase an RV.

I am super excited to be doing this! Some people thinking it's a bad idea but I don't think so. I am a huge travel buff and I get so excited at the thought of road trips! My favorite place is Florida, the weather, theme parks, ooh it's so beautiful down there!

I need some advice... Am I making a good decision to live in an RV before I even have a chance to live out on my own (I live with my parents)? And when I get on the road, how can I make a living???

Well first thing, I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I know how hard that is to get through.

And I am so looking forward to doing this, but I do have a few concerns, of course not the normal concerns like bills and house upkeep, but RV upkeep, TV, internet. Because my job requires the internet. And hopefully, I am going to try and work as a workkamper so I can make some extra money. I also plan on having a home base, where I can park it and have full use of utilities, but not an actual house. And how long do you plan on traveling?

I have had my fifth wheel five wonderful years now. I have not been able to do any traveling with it yet but I have loved living in it at the park it was in and meeting all the wonderful people. My Grandfather became very ill after I bought it so I decided to postpone my plans to take care of him and my Grandmother. I just lost him to Leukemia the fifth of this month so I plan on heading south with my fifth wheel this fall if everything works out, I'm not sure where yet just the direction lol. The reason I went with a large fifth wheel was because I also could not get rid of everything either and I love to go Antiquing so I needed something with some room.

Thanks I am really looking forward to doing this! I am trying to save my money so I can buy an RV. I know that I don't want anything other than a class A RV, simply because I need to extra space for my things because I know emotionally I won't be able to get rid of EVERYTHING!!! So how long have you been living in your fifth wheel?

Cons. a new life

DIN i.e. Do it now! I'm 66 and still waiting to go full time. We have an elderly family member that needs our love and help in her final years, so we are holding off while she is still with us. OUR CHOICE!!! But in your position, Why wait?

I'm 23, have sold everything or put what I am not using in storage and bought a fifth wheel to pull with my truck and am looking into workamping full time. I also love to travel to new places so your not the only one out there. there's a lot of us younger full timers or with dreams of full-timing.

Full timing is a very good way to see the USA. My wife and I have been since June and absolutely love it. As for work, look into what is called workcampers. They stay at different campgrounds around the country and work for their full hookup site and or wages. Information on this life style is available on the internet.
