I'd like your opinion who makes the best quality 5th wheels for full timing in the $80k range?

Best Quality 5ers
by: Blair & Sue Shaffer

We will second the earlier comment on the Grand Design models. After considerable research and personal inspections, we just purchased a 2019
Solitude 373FB today.

The fit and finish is beyond compare, and it is tested to maintain comfortable temperatures, including all compartments and subfloor tanks, from 0 to 110 degrees F. There is absolutely nothing to fault, as long as you can deal with the 42 ft. length and 101" width.

They have numerous types and sizes, but all share the innovative top-of-the-line features that set Grand Design apart from the rest. Find their website at:

Best Quality Opinion
by: Jon and Kari H

My wife and I have scoured the internet, been to dozens of RV lots, go to every RV show, and watch all the RV programs on TV. We're not "experts" but we always seem to know more than the sales people, and have often surprised the factory rep's at the shows with things we have learned along the way.

With that background, I will make the bold assertion that the very best 5er's out there today in your price range (or virtually any price range really) are made by A Grand Design. If you're looking for lighter weight, smaller sizes, then look at their Reflection line. If you're looking for larger residential then look at their Solitude line. The interior and exterior fit and finish on both is just fabulous, and the list of amenities rivals any competitor. Best bang for your buck in our opinion.

Hope that helps!

Full Time 5th Wheel around 80K
by: Mark from Missouri

In the mid-80's range, look at August RV's Ambition fifth wheel. Standards include 8,000 axles, H rated tires and disc brakes. Comes in around 19,500 so will need the right truck to pull it. Tons of cargo capacity as well.
