Are there certain preferences or requirements for RVs used in Florida?

Are termites a problem with wood interiors (cabinets and woodwork)? What about insects and creatures getting into or underneath RV's? Anything else we should know that applies to Florida RV's? This will be our first RV!!

Bugs

We have been in FLA the last 40 years, owned a pop up for about 15 years and now have had a motorhome for the last 6 years, so we've become knowledgeable on bugs & critters. Living in FLA is a challenge as far as bugs, and don't believe anyone when they tell you they don't have them in FLA! LOL! The key is to keep a constant check on things & a lot of preventative care. Make sure you look for red ant mounds, put Andro on them and also around your RV tires. Spray the tires for regular ants. Check in the nooks & crannies for wasp nests. If you travel in the state in the months of May & Sept be aware of love bugs, they will definitely ruin the paint jobs on your vehicles, so wash as soon as possible but don't use your wipers, they smear horrible! Keep a check for cockroach's/palmetto bugs, etc. In fact the spray we use on the tires is a multi bug type spray. Don't make it easy for bugs or critters to find a way into your RV & keep an eye out for stuff.
