Follow the rainbow...

Follow the rainbow...

We're both in our mid-30s, and gave up our traditional houses to hit the road full time in a small solar powered RV. We live, work and play out of our home on wheels while running our tech consulting business.

Why we do it? It's for creating a new life of conscious intent, escaping defaults, variety, adventure, lower cost of exploring the world (and also, living in general) and to be more in touch with our family, friends and the environment.

We love the variety our life has - from remote vistas to urban camping. After 2 years on the road full time, we feel we're just getting started. And the most common comment we get from our retiree RVing peers is that they wish they had done it sooner like we are.

Small Trailer Info
by: Anonymous

I am going to be single any day now. I am looking at a small camper but in my area you have to have a big camper or they talk about you.

So I am looking to buy a small trailer with all plastic so I won't have to do the roof paint every two years. We do not have dealers who sell in our area all I see is tx ga 600 or 700 miles away, I need info on southern Il area.

Priced Out of Competition
by: Knightsix

Hi - like many others, I was immediately drawn to the Oliver Legacy Elite, of which just over 40 were ever made. Can't understand why the company even bothered, as their $40,000.00 and up price tag punched them right out of the marketplace. I take note the "T@B" tear-drop TT is now back in production, and the new company owner is buying parts in the U.S. instead of Germany, as with the original production run. But..."so what?" The new company is pricing the little beasts at somewhere between $16,000 to $20,000!!! My daughter and son-in-law just purchased a fully loaded 24' TT (with genset, AC, 2 electric beds, full bath/shower - etc I could go on), for $10,900.00. What possible reason would any individual with good common sense pay twice as much for twice as small? Beats the heck our of me, so I'll just keep looking. John

We're in a new RV
by: Technomadia

Hi all - just found this thread, and apologize for those who could not find info on our trailer. We actually sold it back in May, so it is no longer prominently featured on our website.

It was a 2009 Oliver Legacy Elite, and only 45 of them were ever made. A direct link to a tour of our old Oliver is at:

In June 2011, we purchased a 1961 GM Bus conversion that we are now full timing in. Big change for us after 3 years of traveling in the tiny 17' trailer. We're loving it!

Also, our blog/website was completely redesigned in September - and much better organized.

Best wishes to everyone -
Cherie

The Sooner the Better
by: Sharon

I love the photo you posted of your trailer. The rainbow really expresses the RV Lifestyle, relaxed, and adventurous.

We definately wish we had gone full-time sooner because we wasted so much money buying and selling houses when Don's job relocated 8 times!
Totally crazy...now we just hook-up and take off. It's so much better.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful story!
