A Leap of Faith BUT......The Best Decision of Our Lives!

In 2010 I was fired and my husband quit his stressful job. Bills were piling up and finally in June 2011 we decided to adopt a frugal lifestyle. Admittedly, not as frugally as some, but far more so than most!.

We moved into a tent and got a membership with Thousand Trails....it was great!. I was living on unemployment and we still had money to spare at the end of each month.

After finding a 24 foot camper that we could make payments on, we moved into it just in time for the cold winter weather. We didn't have a clue about "winterizing" and "condensation", but we sure as hell found out quickly!. I can tell you we went through a lot of paper towels and Damp-Rid.

We no longer had the money to even afford a dehumidifier. No stocks or bonds. No income. Just a leap of faith!.

I found some neighbors living in the same campground that were looking for maid services, and my husband wound up helping out around the campground to help pay for our necessities.

We moved to Pigeon Forge for jobs in July 2012, and we absolutely love it here, and don't plan on going back.

Go on free yourself....i promise you will not regret it!.

New life…new adventures
by: Colleen

I just got back from Rice, Tx. where I ordered my new Spirit Deluxe. I will go back and pick it up June 6. This is something that I've been waiting to do for years. Two years ago my husband died from AML.

I want to live the rest of my life to the fullest. I've only told two people as I don't want to hear all the negatives…the naysayers. The decision is right for me and my little dog. I am excited about my new life. I know it won't be perfect and there will be lots of stuff I will need to learn but, that can be said about everything.

Now…..what to do with all this stuff……...

A LEAP OF FAITH.

I ADMIRE YOUR LIFESTYLE. IT TAKES GUTS TO JUMP OUT THERE AND LIVE IN AN RV. I RETIRED IN AUGUST, 2013, AND I'M LOOKING FOR AN RV. HOPE TO BE ON THE ROAD WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR. I LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE ABOUT YOUR ADVENTURES. THANK YOU.

I have a friend that has lived in an RV his entire adult life. I saw him last month and He loves his life style. Dan lives in the back of a big house in a yard that is surrounded by a fence that is about 3/4 of an acre. Total privacy !

He has a hook up for electricity. But every once in a while he has to do a toilet dump. When he retires he thinking of moving up to the mountains and may live in a mobile home. He is not sure about giving up his RV lifestyle. He really likes it.
