They are made of heavy cast iron which keeps foods warm longer. The cast iron heats foods evenly and will keep them warm while on the table. Look for ones with a domed lid to help keep the moisture in foods while cooking.

Dutch ovens should not be used in your RV microwave, or under a broiler. However you would be able to use them in a convection oven, RV oven or for camp fire cooking. Most are oven safe up to 500 degrees. You should use plastic, nylon, wood or silicon utensils when cooking in your cast iron.
