I have been living in my 5th wheel in a trailer park for 3 years. The park has a new owner. They want proof that its registered but I lost my papers in a fire.

So I was wondering if I took the tires and rims off is it still considered mobile??? what can I do?? thank you for your time.

The needs and un-needs
by: larryd

Many many parks want an RV registered, they are misinformed as to necessity, but, parks can enforce any unimportant code they want to enforce.

If it is registered, you will have a current tag on your license plate for the 5th wheel. If you tag is expired, then the registration is considered invalid.

Take your plate number, or vin number, or title into DMV and have them look it up, check the fee, and re-register it. It really is that simple.

Most DMVs will give you a temp registration to take home that day, and mail you the real one. Note, the tags on your plates inform you if it has a valid registration.

You may be able to apply for a LOST TITLE from the state where it was last registered.

Replace Documents

The DMV, usually for a fee, will issue duplicate registration documents. So bite the bullet, copy down the plate number and fiver serial number, and go stand in line at the DMV tomorrow morning. It may take a while, so bring water, snacks and a book or two.
